Pestle + Mortar Award Winning Green Pesto is made fresh in Galway, Ireland, with hand-picked Irish grown basil and sweetened with mature Irish cheddar and Grana Padano cheeses.

Our Pestle + Mortar Red Pesto has also received numerous awards for its rich flavour, which is derived from the olive oil content and the use of high-quality fresh red peppers and sundried tomatoes.

Our basil requires no pesticides and is extremely fresh due to on-site cultivation, providing us a minimal carbon footprint and year-round access to Irish basil.

Our pestos were created by a team of chefs led by Executive Chef Thomas Haughton. We’ve also been collaborating with the multi-talented Jennifer Oppermann (@jenniferocooks) to create dishes that demonstrate how flexible this classic sauce can be.

We began growing our own basil on-site in our Galway base in 2021. Our fantastic team has been educated on how to care for basil, which is currently flourishing in our new vertical digital farm.
