Pestle + Mortar Award Winning Green Pesto is made fresh in Galway, Ireland, with hand-picked Irish grown basil and sweetened with mature Irish cheddar and Grana Padano cheeses. Our Pestle + Mortar Red Pesto has also received numerous awards for its rich flavour, which is derived from the olive oil content and the use of high-quality fresh red peppers and sundried tomatoes.

In 2023, Pestle + Mortar released a new range of Hummus, including Classic Hummus, Caramelised Onion Hummus, + Basil Pesto Topped Hummus. These creamy + luxurious dips are made fresh in Galway, + can be found on shelves now.

We’ve been creating recipes for as long as we have been making delicious pesto, & you can find more of the below on our inspiration page.

Our pestos were created by a team of chefs led by Executive Chef Thomas Haughton. We’ve also been collaborating with the multi-talented Jennifer Oppermann (@jenniferocooks) to create dishes that demonstrate how flexible this classic sauce can be.

In 2021 we began growing our own basil on-site in our Galway base, with expansion to off-site to meet demand in 2023. Our hand picked basil grown all year round in Ireland.
